No, you're right. They are arguably reasonable stepping stones of a path that eventually can lead to destruction of the family. But really anything can move a zeitgeist in a destructive direction. It's up to us not to let reasonable ideas like immigration turn into open borders

Failure to recognise bonds outside of nuclear family has been arounf in Western society (eg inheritance laws) for a long time, but I'm not sure that's because of socialism. Could be.
