Is Wrangham arguing ‘self-domestication’ via biological evolution or cultural? (I.e. is he arguing for genetic selection for less aggression? Or just anti-aggression social norms, but no corresponding genetic changes?)

Genetic changes.

We act like bonobos. But we have sexually dimorphic bodies & endocrine systems of common chimps. State suppression of violence is artificial/unstable & will likely lead to delayed outbursts of violence. Self organized criticality is beneath the biologyhttp://Sanctionthebook.com

Fascinating interview with Richard Wrangham on

Because -- thanks to language -- we (i.e. our ancestors) could gang up on (& kill) the would-be dominant males. https://www.cbc.ca/radio/quirks/the-goodness-paradox-why-humans-are-so-good-and-so-bad-1.5037033 …#evolution - 1 more reply
