Opera is one art that I never learned to appreciate. I listened to Mozart, Bizet, Wagner, et cetera, but I could never get past the ridiculous style of singing. I feel like such a philistine.

Opera needs its context. Hated when I was a kid for that exact reason. Love it today. Indeed many parfum advertisers use opera in their spots combined with cinematic scenes. Which it means it works pretty well for evoking seduction mood even to the masses.
