Childless people do have a stake in the future.... But it's limited to perpetuating whatever ideology they happen to have soaked up as youths. That's what makes them dangerous as idea-vectors.

A study on who agrees with Keynes that "in the long run, we're all dead" would be edifying: How are attitudes to the future related to children, from completed size = 0 on up. Maybe one of the German panel studies could shed light on changes. Been done

Pinker gave as one of the reasons for a crime spike in the 60s and 70s a large amount of adolescents to adults. Less young people will be better influenced by a greater ratio of older folks. Just a futureless geneless idea.
