Porn is getting more dark and violent. I wouldn’t think it’d be trending that way if there wasn’t demand for it. I won’t comment on the other three points but (3) seems pretty plausible.
It's plausible according to the 'porn addiction' activists, but it's just not true, according to several studies such as this. To me, “extreme” encompasses more than violence
There's been a diversification of porn genres as the market has matured and become more precisely segmented, as happens in any service industry. But 'unusual' doesn't necessarily equal 'extreme'.
