Sometimes a journalist will say to me “You’re polling at 1%” as if it’s a bad thing. I respond, “That’s right. And that’s when most Americans have never heard of me. We are only going to grow from here.”
My crazy idea is that citizens and journalists are actually hungry to hear from someone running for office who is well-informed and reasonable.

I always hope for that and then those candidates garner embarrassingly low turnout in primaries. The political machine which rewards "cult of personality" types is too strong.
