But sometimes 'reality wins' by driving your nation, civilization, or species extinct. That's the danger or runaway wokism.https://twitter.com/EPoe187/status/1098204965712130054 …

Wokism is, by and large, a revolt against reality. The problem is that no matter your arsenal, reality will always win.

What's the species existential risk of runaway wokism? Some kinda non-heteronormative clathrate gun? 100+ km asteroids have rights too, and deserve citizenship and immigration to Earth?

Runaway wokism diverts vast amounts of time, energy, attention, and money away from reducing actual existential risks. Huge opportunity costs.

Indeed. Evolution is entirely unsentimental and doesn't appear to play favourites.

Right. Which (possible) reality will win? The scientist cares about amoral truth, but morally must advise humanity (to the best of one’s knowledge) about possible consequences—in reality—for different paths of action.

Do you think ostentatious wokism could play the role of a fitness signal like the Peacock tail? In any case, runaway wokism has obvious detrimental impact at the society level.

When you find yourself trying to reason with someone whose go to move is to make increasingly cynical assumptions about you, and who doesn’t believe in the process to begin with, they have to see their ideas fail and everyone else needs to be free of the consequences.

Does reality always win? What about religion and mythology? People still believe in astrology, even flat earth is making a comeback.

Reality won during the Great Leap Forward, for example, at the cost of 30-40 million Chinese people or so.
