How many hours a week do you practice a skill that's unrelated to your education or career -- for example drawing, dancing, yoga, playing a musical instrument, meditation, marksmanship, or jujitsu?

If you're doing deliberate practice to improve performance, rather than just playing. I guess.

Poss follow-up q's for the ~ 20% of slackers might include, which of us badly want to invest the time needed to learn a certain skill but still hvn't done so (for whatever reason), vs which of us are not sufficiently passionate abt the skill to warrant sacrificing to acquire it?

Your sample is going to over-index for lots of time spent on a extra-curriculars because you’re a popular science writer. I believe there are too few polymaths compared to our potential. Society only admires people who are great at one discipline

It is! 👌 If we could encourage everyone in the second category to move into the third, I think we’d get our sane-society back! 🤯🤩
