Healthcare should be a basic right for all Americans. We need to provide high-quality healthcare to all Americans and a single-payer system is the most efficient way to accomplish that.pic.twitter.com/lY9kTQ4TRg

The 'Universal Declaration of Human Rights' was a highly politicized 1948 document that focused on 'positive rights' (i.e. hypothetical 'rights' to other people's money and/or labor), and that is not binding on the US government or citizens.
Agree with this, as a healthcare provider. It’s hard to hear that someone has a “right” to my labor even though I do want every American to have access to healthcare services. Who says that people have a “right” to a plumber’s services?
How do you feel about a minimum flat rate for each individual procedure? Therefore, allowing customers the right to decide if they want to purchase insurance for an additional coverage. If not, they would then pay out of pocket to cover their costs.
It's fairly efficient at withholding money from people's paychecks.
Technically, nothing is a right. They’re shared fiction (like money). Does treating health care like a right increase the net amount of freedom?
Treating health care as a gov't monopoly would not increase freedom.
imo a central principle of the US Constitution is that ‘rights’ are mostly limited to negative rights. I don’t think we should go fiddling with that premise. Call basic healthcare a ‘responsibility’ of a rich country, maybe, but don’t call it a right
Libertarians, I believe, are supposed to have higher IQs on average than other political tendencies. Isn't it reasonable to expect them to be able to figure this out - that it makes sense as policy - without fixating on an essentially irrelevant philosophical debating point?
A lot of Americans take their rights pretty seriously, and don't consider them philosophical debating points.
