Most people are happy most of the time and happy they were born (says happiness research), and we're nowhere close the Laniakea supercluster's carrying capacity, so there's room for plenty more sentient intelligent life.

In that vein though, what's your take on Peterson's idea that "a million more geniuses couldn't hurt"? Just to be up front; I strongly disagree, and I use it as an example of how even in his general admirability he is way off course.

In systems, even if influences are of equal magnitude/power, the more rigid or "slower" factor sets the terms. So, like white in Chess, it effectively "has the first move". A million more people of >130 IQ bashing their heads against the same wall, I don't consider desirable.
