Not exactly, but very close to effectively so. Government issues its own money to *pay* but will need to tax heavily to destroy money to avoid excessive inflation. Who gets taxed doesn't matter from an accounting perspective as long as dollars are destroyed...

The way you have framed it, Jim, should prefer taxation over MMT. The working man is much more likely to be harmed by inflation.

Only if your goal is to satisfy an agenda is it like that. To the rational and more objective, it’s a way to leverage our sovereign currency and get to a better outcomes faster. Taxing to prevent inflation is an easier sell than taxing to pay for stuff.

Lol Inflation already happened.. dollar is down 95% in the past 80 years and gold/silver markets are suppressed to hide it.. But no, print more money.. Id like some trillion dollar bills for wallpaper..
