But the point people are making is that BTC is a credible threat to both financial censorship, and to bad/inflationary monetary policy. Lots of people just holding it, with *some* direct real-world economy based on it, is enough.

I think you're misunderstanding the 'buy bitcoin' thing. What it refers to is exactly the problem you pointed out. More people need to own and use it, so that solutions built on top of it become more widespread.

Not obvious how this will play out. "Free speech" sites online have become harbors for...well... fringes. What kind of serious business would want to associate with that? Why would BTC be different?
