Not needed as the free market will adjust. Do you really think Amazon is willing to lose half of its customer base over its leadership's left leaning political bias? New services will arise to fill the vacuum.
-
Why would the free market alone be any better at protecting the free speech rights of political minorities than direct democracy is? (I. E. Not at all good)

You need to amend this meme. It should read, "I'm sorry sir your card was declined because we have exercised our right to free speech and are choosing not to serve you"
-
You missed the bit about the cultural norm of free speech didn't you. ok bye.

In this respect Germany has better laws. If a company reaches a monopoly position in Germany then it must respect speech/beliefs legal under the German constitution. In other words: monopolies are not allowed to censor/exclude someone based on their own company policy.

In a recent case someone won against Facebook when it censored a political petition. The court decided that this counts as political interference and is illegal due to Facebook's status as an opinion forming monopoly.https://www.achgut.com/artikel/facebook_wegen_vertrags_und_verfassungsbruch_verurteilt …

The entire premise is absurd. Americans never enjoyed unfettered cultural free speech. The only thing that is different today is that it’s far less regressive and the power dynamic has changed from WASP establishment control to a social justice tilt.

No ideal is ever completely realized in practice or reality. That doesn’t mean that striving for principles is a thing to be avoided. Every moral precept that exists today is but little more than a refined version of innovative precursors which predated modern frameworks.
