Remember a few years ago when quite a number of intelligent people honestly thought that there was about to be a technological Singularity? That was a weird and silly time.
The sensible ones were predicting a singularity sometime c. 2030 to 2050, IIRC. Could still happen?

No real evidence we’ve cracked the secrets to AGI. And we have no real idea how close we are to that breakthrough. FWIW.

This is a tough one. We still have no idea what consciousness is. A mummer’s trick? Or, an emdedded signal in the space-time fabric? DMT entities controlling us in a holographic universe? Something else entirely?

GDP seems like a more likely indicator than processing power. It blows up at ~2100 although I guess 100 years ago same could have been said for today. Rediculous growth is relative i suppose.
