People aren't finding life saving cures/life extension treatments because drug research is really fucking hard, not because they are pro death.
There's very little research on general anti-senescence treatment. Almost all biomedical research aims to cure particular diseases, and to seek patentable drugs -- preferably that have to be taken every day for a long, long time.
