        People aren't finding life saving cures/life extension treatments because drug research is really fucking hard, not because they are pro death.

        There's very little research on general anti-senescence treatment. Almost all biomedical research aims to cure particular diseases, and to seek patentable drugs -- preferably that have to be taken every day for a long, long time.

        I'll defend deathism. 1) 1x 1000yr life seems no better than 10x 100yr lives, or any allocation of 1K life-years; 2) people cost resources so must face this tradeoff eventually; 3) factors like declining flexibility, novelty suggest optimal life length given tradeoff not infinite
