No, what’s racist or sexist is to suggest that a genetic difference in trait distributions, observable only at the population level, has ANY application to observations about individuals or the laws that govern them. #EcologicalFallacyhttps://twitter.com/EPoe187/status/1092350710681866240 …

Many people seem to believe that it’s racist or sexist to suggest that human groups or sexes are different at least partially because of genetics. Only if human dignity is dependent upon absolute genetic sameness, which is, it seems to me, a pernicious doctrine.

If I know that giraffes are taller than gophers on average, and someone tells me animal X is a giraffe, can't I use Bayesian reasoning to predict that they're likely to be taller than a gopher? If not, why not?

The difference in population trait distributions between human sexes and races is miniscule, and the difference in population trait distributions between giraffes and gophers is enormous. But then again, you already knew that. Enjoy your fellow travelers here, dude.

What d value concerning mean differences is required before Bayesian reasoning is acceptable to you? Give me a number.

Are you about to show me the distribution of grip strength chart? Because I do love me a good grip strength chart. This isn't an argument over men's tennis vs. women's tennis, and it's sophistry to act like it is. That pretense is what gets me riled up.

Give me a d value then.

..in the face of added emergent objects such as agency, language, emotion, & culture ..no one should compare behavioural differences between (sexes/races of) humans with physiological differences between gophers and giraffes. Simply two different realms of constrained outputs.
