A super-majority of journalists identify as 'independent' and on average they are slightly to the right of public opinion on social and fiscal issues. Only about 30% of journalists are women. Only around 2% of journalists are black women.

The myth that journalists are 'liberals' was invented during the 60's by segregationists. It's not a myth. The vast majority of journalists are left of center. Herd behavior and being inside the DC/NY bubble reinforces this.
