What I've learned from the last few days of the abortion debate on Twitter: 1) Most 'pro-choice' Leftists have NO IDEA AT ALL how seriously the 'pro-life' Right takes this issue as ethically foundational (not just as a religious doctrine) 2) See point 1 again

Even though I’m not right wing, I’m extremely pro-life and don’t believe religious arguments should be a basis for law even though I am religious. I’m glad to see that pro-life people are using secular arguments.

Of course not. They’ve learned much from the creationist/intelligent design wars of the 90’s. I wouldn’t be surprised if their PR people routinely warn them against mentioning religion.

They are ethical arguments vegetarian atheists could make. Meat eaters routinely kill animals far more sentient than a 1st trimester fetus.
