Hypothesis: long-lasting happiness coincides with self-respect. Any counter-examples?

Serious question, does coincide always imply totality, or can a smaller set coincide with a larger set? What would be a better term for "all X happens during Y, but not always"?

“Coincide” always implies a total equivalence. That said, I agree with you that in my previous tweet “coincide” is not the right term, and one implying a subset might have been a better choice.

I’m tempted to think: one might have self-respect without long-lasting happiness but never long-lasting happiness without self-respect.
