Just spent a few hours at the county clerk's office doing a thing that should have taken 5 minutes. Anybody who thinks the gov't should run American health care hasn't interacted much with the gov't lately.

Laser eye surgery, breast implant, Botox, plastic surgery. All elective surgeries have decreased in price over the last 20yrs. An appendectomy has gone up 4x......

IDK. I've worked in insurance industry processing claims, and admin costs in private industry are more than 10 times admin costs of Medicare. Gov doesn't do everything well, but it can do many, if structure is set up right, and gov employees have incentives to be efficient.

I used to think this way. Then a relative got cancer. Experience with hospitals has made me realize the fallacy of the high functioning private health care system.
