When a complex problem arises should we only follow a "real" answer? will nothing they pitch help anything? The people who give Ted talks aren't all bad. Talking in such large generalizations is kinda part of the issue we face now no?

You don't think TED provides ancillary benefits, that by having people look for cool, new, interesting ideas they're bound to find some some of the time? I mean, that's the argument for funding a broad span of university research, even when they don't have obvious application
