Couldn't the combination of likelihood and effect of our efforts to lower the likelihood mean that it makes more utilitarian sense to worry more about climate change? I'd love to learn but it seems much easier to affect climate change

I would not assume the chances are higher to begin with. The chance of global warming happening *in some decades* might be high, though should not be compared without adjustment to the chance of us blowing yourself up *during the next 12 months or whatever*
