Inadvertently, I’ve discovered that some of my followers believe there is no “Open Borders” movement. They believe no one has proposed Open Borders. I just don’t know what to make of this. Does the WSJ not exist?? Do search engines live in my imagination?? Anyone? A little help.

@ScottAdamsSays I think this is Scott's point...a lot of people may virtue signal regarding open borders but most of them haven't thought too deeply about it or plumbed the depths of their own true feelings regarding what it would mean in concrete terms. -
Partly true perhaps. But I think Scott underestimates the number of ideologues who know exactly what the consequences of open borders would be and embrace them.

I should get you to the Mises Institute so you can meet a different kind of libertarian then.

Which kind? Hoppe or Higgs?

Because we (anarcho-capitalists) see governments the same way a regular person see the mafia. Does the mafia have the right to tell a New Yorker they can’t move to New Jersey? As long as the person can pay the rent, the mafia has no business telling anyone where they can live.

No no no... I’ve been a libertarian a long time and this year is the first of “open borders “ that I’ve heard of and I’m not a supporter.

They don't analyze why freedom is good. They think freedom is good by itself. Like we were rational beings maximizing general welfare by developing markets. That's not accurate and differences matters.

Angela Merkel stated: Wir schaffen das. One million migrants came to Germany as a result. So the veteran (14y) leader of most important EU member state is not a serious politician in your opinion?

How do you define open Borders? No restrictions on immigration? Are there any existing countries that practice Open Borders in your view?
-
Generally, "open borders" is fine with mandatory check points, and excluding or punishing individuals based on specific crimes or behaviors, but not broadly excluding large groups of people who aren't known criminals.
