This ad seems great to some but deeply annoying to others. Yes, it stereotypes traditional masculinity as toxic & oppressive. But, it's just an ad. You can watch or not watch, buy or not buy -- unlike the @APA guidelines that influence how thousands of therapists are trained.https://twitter.com/Gillette/status/1084850521196900352 …

Exactly, it's one thing after another. Disappointing every time it happens.

When corporate goes fully political with a single support-or be-evil signal - nothing more than a thumbs up or thumbs down response is accepted. In this jaded manipulation-weary climate people have little interest in engaging in the finer points somewhere in the excluded-middle.

I had not seen this application of the Big 5 personality test to brands. I can use these concepts immediately. This was a powerful albeit very low-key talk...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWlK8GvqdT0 …

I do find the dual roles businesses in highly mature markets adopt rather odd. On the one hand, sell commodity products. On the other, wade in on social issues in an attempt to make associations between the two (for eventual financial gain). Seems disingenuous, but obvious why.

I thought the ad highlighted and appealed for the best of masculinity; summed up in Sheep Dog (has teeth but uses them to protect sheep from wolves). It’s the meek (has sword, knows how to use it, doesn’t unless necessary) that are blessed.
