Why does APA matter? Because it's the accrediting body that determines how clinical psych PhDs are trained throughout most US grad schools. Don’t worry, most of us don’t care what they say. Hell, many of us don’t even know who they are. They’re relevant only among other psychologists who think psychology is somehow of utmost importance. It’s not.

You need to care. This has - and will have - much broader social impact. Psychologists influence certain legal proceedings, law, policy, & institutional practices, & the APA is their preeminent professional organization.
