The IQ Cult continues. An enormous amount of research into top performers. *No* evidence that an IQ of 130 would provide a measurable/significant increase in Navy SEAL performance. But people like @primalpoly depend on bluster to sell these fairy tales. https://twitter.com/primalpoly/status/1081987706635182080 …

Please show me the evidence that an IQ above 130 meaningfully predicts performance in the Navy SEALs, Geoffrey, as you imply.
-
Please show me the evidence that any additional data about IQ predicting real-world success would change your mind about the value of IQ.

It’s anecdotal, yes, but having worked with seals, I can assure anyone wondering that not only are higher IQs helpful with performance, they’re required to even make the cut.

The ASVAB is not an IQ test, it dedicates far more questions to assessing if you can repair a vehicle and operate a radio than if you have a 130+ IQ, which it will actively weed out as disruptive to the unit.

Where did 130 goalpost come in? That's 97%ile, and pretty high for a job as even an elite rifleman. For almost any job, higher IQ predicts better performance, up to a ceiling beyond which it doesn't matter significantly, or maybe hurts to be smarter, due to boredom.

It was just a question of whether it would be ideal. Wouldn’t you want your spotter to be a smart mf?
