It may seem strange, but reading your work helped me develop into a social conservative. Your books teach the reader how to think about evolution as much as what to think.

Problem is that "social conservative" probably conjures up images of dopey Moral Majority-type conservatives to most people today. It's not something I had much exposure to before but diving into 4chan and associated politics the last few years has opened my eyes to it.
-
You see this stuff and...*smh*...mainstream conservatives couldn't possibly have been more clueless and ineffective over the last like 30 years.

Social science, in its aspiration to being empirical, tends to disregard what it cannot measure. Conservatism’s value is in knowing that much of what is important is not quantifiable. Thus is social science naturally predisposed against conservatism.https://twitter.com/epoe187/status/1081930272256544768?s=21 …

To the extent social science is receptive to conservative principles it is usually only after having quantified the effects left in the wake of traditional norms and institutions passing: Durkheim, Bella, Putnam and Haidt being four examples.

> NRx Get out of the closet already... :P JK, Moldbug makes some good points, but I remember being massively disappointed by some part of his Introduction going for a tone argument (don't remember which) and didn't really bother afterwards.
-
I'm much more in favor of something like SlateStarCodex. Most of the good NRx points I know can be found there and he rages hell against the bad ones. I like a few of their ideas, like "the sovereign is the one who selects the null hypothesis" and such... but that's it.

When discussing social conservatism in the psych domain, as opposed to legislative, it's important to remember that there's generally a wider gap on the Right than the Left between belief that a behavior is unhealthy/immoral and wanting to restrict that behavior by force.
