Of course. No one would dispute that. The issue is how fast can you learn to apply your skills under real-world conditions, and how quickly and reliably can you use them under intense, high-stakes pressure.
I agree that emotional stability (low neuroticism) would also be crucial in combat, or competitive sports.

There's virtually no correlation either way between IQ and emotional stability, according to personality research. Important to assess both.
