Why does the Army use intelligence test scores to select Green Berets? Because in the Vietnam War, when they lowered IQ test requirements, it was disastrous and many died. Seems pretty effective to me.

What’s the minimum IQ necessary? I think they argument is, they indicate intelligence to a point, and the kind of skills needed to be a good green beret May match what’re test tests for

As far as I can make out, the ASVAB scores expected for special forces are in the 90th+ percentile for all military personnel. Very selective.
