It’s a positive correlation but very noisy and only very mildly predictive? Is it useful as a metric? Why not look at wealth directly?
Because if you're selecting students, workers, or soldiers, IQ tests are hugely more useful than looking at their bank records. Also, from a Darwinian and civilizational perspective, there's more to life than wealth....
