It’s a positive correlation but very noisy and only very mildly predictive? Is it useful as a metric? Why not look at wealth directly?
Eg my take is that intellectual-yet-idiots are IQ smart, but if they can’t get rich they are actually idiots. Or go straight for inclusive fitness: extrapolated of healthy offspring in 10 generations. By that measure a lot of low IQ people are smarter than intellectual idiots.
Why would desire for money be the same for different IQ-levels? The most intelligent people I know know that money does not buy happiness.
