You're confusing 'argument from authority' with 'argument from people who actually know the literature, have done the research, and have served on the editorial boards'.

No, I've correctly identified someone who says "you are wrong because I am an expert and I disagree with you" as making an argument from authority.

Argument from actual expertise is generally more reliable than argument from ignorance, which is what you seem to have done.
