Does this also apply to Marx? I think Stalin implemented his ideas unfaithfully, but every attempt to try Marxism ended the same way. There might be something wrong with the ideas if nobody can seem to implement them as intended by the theorist.

Writers should try to write clearly, and readers should try to read critically.

I don't know what you are referring to that's a pretty broad stroke. People are responsible for clearly communicating and understanding the risks and rewards of any big idea they have, as far as they know them.
-
Nope. Nobody can anticipate risks & rewards of big new ideas. Any pretense of doing so is _almost always_ politically motivated.

True. But i think bad ideas allow far more latitude for misapplication than good ones, which tend to be clear enough that 'misinterpretations' are far more obvious to everyone. They're not parents of the misapplications, but they still have kinship.

A legal analogy: if I write a good judgment and someone violates it, that’s on them. If I write a bad judgment, full of ambiguity and unclear provisions, and someone exploits that- that’s on both of us.
