They helped bolster a US hegemonic world order that brought all nations closer through trade. So yes. But then they involved us in two perpetual wars. So no. Like all things, it's complicated.

The world‘s state is instable per se. It‘s not about who contributes to this instability, everybody does. It‘s about with whom a bit of thriving stability can be established or preserved.
