What does the simulation hypothesis have to do with magical deities? Advanced aliens creating simulations doesn't make them Gods any more than playing Sim City makes you a God.
You are a God to your Sim City inhabitants. If they were sentient, they'd be fully justified in having 'religious' awe towards you.
