Immigration increases demand for housing, so drives up housing prices. It increases labor supply, so drives down wages. All of which make it harder for native-born couples to afford to have big families. It's not that complicated.

But this is happening all over the developed world. I agree w/ u that birthrates needs to be addressed. Immigration is just delaying the inevitable. We can’t go on not having children forever or some other solution to this. 1/2

I actually don’t think lower population is the end of the world, except that the retirement problems (i.e. social security), which should have never been created in the first place, will be a problem. 2/2
