Using sophisticated data analytics, targeted marketing, lies, and a whole lot of private money to get the result you want isn’t democracy either. It always was a game of persuasion, but it’s more and more a game of programming the populace with nudges.

Indeed. I caught on this was about Brexit. My wife’s grannies are both British. Their reason for leave: the Poles are taking the jobs. Mind you, not their jobs. They’re on pension.
