When did it become the norm for students enrolling at a 4-year college/uni to take 6 years? Unis often don’t even present 4-year grad rates, and only dicuss 6-year grad, which seem to hover around 50% at state schools. I don’t know at a societal level what’s changed, but anecdotally, we might’ve actually gotten lazier. I hear from a lot of young people “how hard they’re working,” but as a 31 year old, it often rings hollow. My guess: poor coping skills + lowered achievement bar to compensate.
