      I'm with you. Sometimes I wonder if you zoom out another level, even if humans are artificially selecting for horses, is it still just natural selection? The environment is that humans who select for characteristics. It only seems to be artificial selection at one level.

          To me, it's amazing how infrequently, evolution in any form comes up in AI research. The focus seems to be on the present so to speak e.g how to simulate human-like brain processes rather than understanding how intelligence emerged in the first place.
