If everyone chose to select we could lose good genetic diversity e.g. if people chose to deselect Aspergers then that would be a bad thing since we would be removing a ton of geniuses.
That's one of my key worries actually -- premature reduction in neurodiversity through misguided demonization of 'mental disorders' that may not really be disorders.
Disclaimer: I am almost certainly Aspergers. I think differently. In our world people say I struggle to understand other people but in reality I understand my own perfectly well. Understanding people who think differently is difficult. But if everyone is your type it's easier.
Aspergers are less able to understand other Aspergers than neurotypicals with basic understanding of and exposure to Aspergers.
