Wrong question. Ethics presumes rationality and reflection. Sexual selection is the result of a mixture of unconscious evolutionary and cultural preference. The concept of "selection" is ambiguous. It seems to indicate a conscious choice that the biological context excludes.
-
So we can't call an impulsive murder 'unethical' since it didn't involve rationality and reflection?

Is this question pitting the ethics of natural vs unnatural selection?
-
More or less. Although sexual selection, IMHO, is distinct from 'natural selection' -- and Darwin thought so as well.

That was done during slavery in the US, admittedly. Arranged marriages were usually to keep money in the family or royal blood. Other than that, on what are you basing your premise?
