How do you 'deal with the blowback' if you end up with the majority of the people in a country holding illiberal values (e.g. tribalism, fundamentalism, actual patriarchy)? By then it's too late; you've lost game, set, and match.

What do you mean by "bad" though? Bad is too vague for them not to dance around. There will never be evidence on economic grounds, b/c true open borders (meaning, no welfare state either) is indisputably great for the economy. But on a social cohesion level, you might make ground

I was thinking 'bad' in terms of illiberal attitudes, values, & world-views increasing if some immigrants aren't actually open to libertarian reasoning. Then we've freedom'ed ourselves into anti-freedom.
