This is how liberal academics justify not accepting conservatives as grad students, dismissing their views in class, not hiring them as professors, not tenuring them, ostracizing them, and treating them with contempt. Their Leftist self-righteousness is intense, common, and toxic https://twitter.com/JCorneliusBuie/status/1066516551694786561 …

You can make a practical case that something of tangible benefit is lost with fewer conservatives or libertarians. Trying to make a case that rejecting people on the basis of beliefs is wrong is like arguing I should hire a nazi or Im a bigot (not to say con/liber same as nazi).

The biggest organized discrimination somewhere like Hollywood or publishing is whether someone has the unlikely 1/100,000 idea that might actually make money in the market. There are people on the identity left who also argue for systemic discrimination in entertainment.

I would say the bias isn't "he's conservative so he can't be in our science program." It's actually "he doesn't believe in climate change so he's not a fit for our science program" which Is reasonable to me lol.

That's actually an "unreasonable" position to take. You're gladly excluding someone from a science program for being skeptical of a scientific position? Sounds like you're fundamentally unaware of what "science" requires for progress to occur. Bravo!

Good to know you think the "plight" of right-wing entertainers and psychologists is comparable to centuries of racism, xenophobia, worker abuse and homophobia. because obviously the suffering under the latter was no worse than what the former undergoes today.

Discrimination against ideas has to be socially justifiable, if a person wanted to burn down my business it would be weird to say I was discriminating but not hiring them. Discrimination is considered bad when its against natural, unalterable, traits.
