Only if you're scientifically ignorant. Anyone educated in the basics of science knows that correlation doesn't equal causation and therefore to say a correlation can be misleading is nonsensical.
So hockey talent correlates to a bisection of Canadianness and Whiteness, simply by virtue of occupancy? Interesting slant on correlation.

I didn't say correlations are meaningless. But the only thing correlations do is tell us that more research needs to be done to find out if one of the correlations caused the other. But correlations certainly aren't descriptive. Causations are descriptive.

Hard to know if it's actually misleading. Assuming it is or is not risks error, unless you're aware of things that should push us to "no", or alternatively are just criticising assuming it is and are not asserting it is not.
