Haven't most sitcoms been about happy families?

Sitcoms are a perfect example of bad familial role models. Headstrong and rebellious children, loutish or buffoonish husbands, with harried and fraying moms trying to hold it all together. Some buck the tropes more than others, but that’s mostly what I see.

I don’t think “inhibited” is the right word. More like market-driven. They write about what sells, and “normal” isn’t what sells.
