I agree with you. I just wish you wouldn't use the word "toxic".
Masculinity was traditionally associated with virtues such as heroism, ambition, chivalry, protectiveness, competence, resourcefulness, courage, etc. Anti-masculine culture has just disavowed most of these as manly virtues, with toxic effects on young men.

I expect this is because women asked, "why isn't being clever, resourceful, honorable, etc considered feminine? Can't we be all that too?" Virtue has no gender, but the trend of inserting gender in everything has left men feeling homeless and undistinguished.
