At West Point, we were taught that we had an obligation to question the moral and ethical basis of the orders given to us and to act accordingly. To think the military would blindly follow orders to attack US citizens is beyond ignorant.

Considering that they took an oath to defend the Constitution, and that they’re a pretty conservative bunch, yeah. Most of them would consider it their duty to disobey such orders (and rightly so).

And that was precisely why Obama pushed 280 stellar military leaders into retirement by threatening them with specious accusations - such as playing in a casino with "counterfeit" poker chips or alleging adultery. Paranoid Obama feared he could not control them to meet his ends.
