Defining sex by gametes is completely impractical
Name any kind of gamete other than sperm or eggs produced by any human.

I didn't deny there are 2 gametes, I said its an impractical way to define sex in many settings.

_Defining_ sex by gamete size is the most reasonable thing in terms of evolutionary biology. _Recognizing_ sex is something different, and can be based on many correlated cues.
