It’s one congressman, & a bill that’s unlikely to come to fruition. Plus, posing it this way makes it seem more extreme than an assault rifle ban that has precedent (FWIW, I’m ambivalent about such a ban).

I would be fine with restrictions on assault rifles, (perhaps require certification, proper training, military exp, background/mental health eval. etc).. But this is not the way chief...
